A motorist who was caught driving three times over the legal alcohol limit has been banned from driving for two years.
As reported by the Wirral Globe, Katie Doughty, 40, of McGill Court, Conway Street, Birkenhead, was stopped by police while driving a Ford Fiesta on Bright Street in Birkenhead on 3 July.
Wirral Magistrates' Court heard she was found to have 105 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. That is three times the legal limit of 35 microgrammes.
Doughty pleaded guilty to drink-driving and was handed a 24-month driving ban on 3 August. Her disqualification can be reduced by 24 weeks, provided she completes a drink-driving rehabilitation course by December 16 of next year.
She was fined £677 and ordered to pay £85 in court costs along with a victim surcharge of £271.
