An independent learning provider in Birkenhead has been rated as meeting the expected standard by Ofsted, as reported by the Wirral Globe.
Dianthas Ltd, located at Woodside Business Park on Shore Road, specialises in apprenticeships for the social care sector.
96 apprentices use the service across the North West and in London. The service offers apprenticeships from levels two to five.
Inspectors found the provider has an "inclusive culture" where apprentices' individual needs are met. They said: "Apprentices who have barriers to learning typically achieve their apprenticeships as well as their peers."
The report praised the provider's ability to identify apprentices with significant barriers to learning, like poor mental health or caring responsibilities. They were also praised with theit ability to provide support to those apprentices. Coaches are trained to help understand these barriers, such as additional needs like dyslexia or dyspraxia.
Leaders of the programme were also applauded for identifying weaknesses and taking action to address them. Inspectors found that "retention and achievement rates across almost all apprenticeships improved as a result."
The curriculum was also praised, as apprentices were noted to be obtaining new knowledge and skills needed for work success.
Still, inspectors noted that the feedback only confirms what apprentices are already doing, rather than helping them improve and make more progress.
Dianthas was urged to offer more training for coaches to improve teaching and assessment practices, and to ensure apprentices have great career guidance.
