A man has been charged with drug offences after police seized packages containing 1kg of cocaine and 1kg of heroin from a van in Birkenhead.
As reported by the Wirral Globe, traffic officers stopped the driver of a van outside a shop in Lairdside Technology Park near the A41 at around 2:30 pm yesterday (September 22).
Officers searched the van and found two parcels of drugs. Both tested as Class A substances.
Anthony Joseph Griffiths, 36, of Flaybrick Close in Bidston, was charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs, namely heroin and cocaine.
He appeared at Wirral Magistrates Court today, where he was remanded into custody. Griffiths is due to appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, October 21.
