Wirral Youth Market is back after being in West Kirby last year. This time, it's coming to Bromborough.
As the Wirral View says, the market will bring together young entrepreneurs, creative talent, and live entertainment to the town centre on August 22.
The market is free and runs from 10 am to 4 pm, and you can catch it on Allport Lane.
For youngsters, you can apply for a free pitch if you have a side hustle/business, a business idea or pitch, a creative brand, or if you have a small established business. The pitch includes a gazebo, a table, and chairs. Bands and artists are also encouraged to apply to be performers on the day.
Wirral Youth Markets have seen major success, as Birkenhead News highlights. They have hosted many events across the Wirral, and attracted more than 30,000 visitors in their wake. Many traders at previous shows have gone on to build successful careers, with some even becoming nationally recognised. Over 30 previous traders will join the Bromborough market.
The event is funded by the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority's Local Growth Fund. Additional funding this year will give five young entrepreneurs access to extra support through the Wirral Business Support Service, delivered by Wirral Chamber of Commerce. The programme includes workshops, one-to-one advice and practical guidance.
Councillor Paula Basnett, Leader of Wirral Council and Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Cabinet Member for Economic Growth and Regeneration, said: "Youth Markets are a fantastic way of nurturing entrepreneurial talent and helping young people turn ideas into opportunities. Through the Local Growth Fund, we're pleased to support not only the event itself, but also enterprise-readiness activity that will help young traders build confidence, develop practical business skills and take their next steps towards self-employment."
Councillor Mark Skillicorn, Chair of Wirral Council's Economy, Regeneration and Housing Committee, said the council is "excited to bring the event to Bromborough", and acknowledged the previous performers and traders who have grown their businesses through the market.
