The owners of The Bus Yard say they want their new Wallasey beach site to benefit the whole community, not just their own customers, according to The Guide Liverpool.

The team behind the popular Crosby venue wants to bring the same concept over to the Wirral. With the new concept, they are promising local employment, apprenticeships, and support for neighbouring businesses.

Andy Laird is one of the creators of The Bus Yard. And with every location they choose, they assess what they can bring to the area.

In a statement, he said: "If you're taking on spots like we do, you've got to play your part in the community, and that's always been a massive element of our business structure."

He continued, "We don't just think about our own business, we look at the wider benefits and what we can contribute as well."

They have already reportedly been in talks with Wirral Met College, who focus on adult courses and apprenticeships, to hire apprentices. Andy and his team also say they plan to buy local produce and provide a platform for local musicians to perform.

Anyone working for The Bus Yard will be trained in first aid by the coastguard and fire service, working closely with the RNLI on beach safety.

Laird believes the long opening hours (11 am to 8 pm) will benefit local businesses as customers move throughout the evening. He referenced this happening in Crosby in a statement, saying that the beach is now a "hotspot" partly thanks to The Bus Yard.

Local businesses seem eager for opportunities, as the team says many of them have been in contact to discuss collaborations. The team has even reached out to Merseyrail to promote the use of the nearby Wallasey Grove Road station.

As an LCR Tourism Award winner, The Bus Yard says it has received strong support from residents excited about the opening.

Still, Andy acknowledged that new businesses can raise concerns among residents but pointed to the venue's track record in Sefton, where they signed a nine-year lease.

The plans for the new venue were announced in March 2026.
