A bistro that opened only four months ago inside a Port Sunlight church has issued an emotional plea for customers, saying it may be forced to close if it doesn't get more support, as reported by the Wirral Globe.
Manna Bistro, based in Christ Church, told customers: "This is how simple this is: if you lovely lot don't use our bistro, we will be forced to close."
The business said its closure would be a "tragedy" for Manna Foods, "desperately sad" for the church and a "terrible blow" to its staff.
In its appeal, the bistro said: "There is no question you have all been so super supportive online but we need you, now more than ever, as we move to change our menus next week, to COME AND SUPPORT US!"
The business highlighted that it regularly checks its prices compared to competitors and "consistently" beats them.
Manna Bistro's appeal was issued just four months after it opened on June 1. Owner of the business Clive Ransom praised the responsible at the time, saying he thought it was "beyond my wildest dreams".
Currently the bistro has a 5-star rating on Google based on 15 reviews, where people have said the food is "delicious". The quiche and the cakes seem to be a hit with those who have visited.
Mr Ransom is actually known to the Port Sunlight community, having lived there and even chaired the residents' association for four-and-a-half years, said when the business opened that he had "always wanted to give something back to the local community".
Manna Foods isn't new to Merseyside either, operating for over 18 years as a catering company before it went into the bistro business.
Its appeal added: "Come for lunch and support a really worthwhile bistro that takes pride in making everything from scratch each day."
Manna Bistro is currently open 9:30 am to 4 pm Monday to Friday.
