Up to 450 new homes could be built in Spital after planning documents were submitted to Wirral Council by Persimmon Homes Limited.
As reported by Birkenhead News, the homes would be built on farmland at Vineyard Farm, off Poulton Road in Bebington.
The land boundary starts near Holy Trinity Church in Spital, to near Poulton Hall.
The documents aren't a full-fledged planning application. They contain little detail about the design of the proposed housing development.
Rather, the documents focus on the effects the construction could have during and after completion.
On traffic, the documents state: "Construction traffic effects are expected to be temporary and short-term. A quantitative assessment will be undertaken for a realistic worst-case period of construction activity, having regard to the anticipated construction programme, workforce movements, HGV and LGV movements, construction access arrangements and routing."
The assessment will examine predicted changes in overall traffic levels and HGV movements on relevant roads, as well as the potential impact of increased construction traffic. Where necessary, appropriate traffic management measures will be put in place.
Documents submitted also consider how views of the landscape could change. They state that the surrounding landscape is characterised by changes in elevation, while extensive woodland to the south and east further restricts visibility. As a result, views of the site are generally confined to the site itself and the areas immediately around it.
However, the documents acknowledge that the site can be seen from a number of nearby properties, including homes along Venables Drive, Chorley Way and Poulton Road.
