Four more teenagers were arrested in connection with an alleged stabbing at Heswall bus station that left two boys with injuries from bladed weapons back in July.
Officers were called to a fight that involved four youths on Telegraph Road at around 6:35 pm on July 4. Out of the two boys injured, one suffered a wound to his finger, and the other an injury to his chest.
Three males were arrested shortly after the incident, and four further arrests were made on August 27.
As reported by the Wirral Globe, the arrests include a 15-year-old from New Ferry on suspicion of Section 18 wounding, affray, and possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs, namely cocaine and cannabis. A 15-year-old from Neston was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and affray, as was a 16-year-old also from Neston. A 15-year-old from Rock Ferry was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 wounding and affray.
The initial arrests made after the incident included a 15-year-old from Birkenhead on suspicion of possessing a bladed article, Section 18 wounding with intent and affray. Police also arrested a 17-year-old from Tranmere on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent and affray, and a 15-year-old from Tranmere on suspicion of Section 18 wounding with intent.
All seven remain on conditional bail while police enquiries continue.
Detective Superintendent Joe Marston said in a statement: "We have now made seven arrests following this incident, which left two teenagers with injuries consistent with a bladed weapon and would have been distressing for anyone who witnessed it."
Despite the significant progress already made, we continue to make enquiries into what took place to ensure all those involved are held to account for their actions.
He urged people to educate themselves and speak to their children and family members about the dangers of knife crime.
