It may only be September, but the Christmas event planning has started in the Wirral, with the famous Dick Whittington pantomime set to take the stage at the Gladstone Theatre in Port Sunlight in December.
Performances will run from December 5 to December 31, according to the Wirral Globe.
Dreamworld Entertainments is returning to the familiar venue, marking their 11th festive production at the theatre.
Emmerdale and Hollyoaks actor Darren John Langford will play the villainous King Rat. He has previously starred in pantomimes at the Gladstone Theatre, including Jack and the Beanstalk, Peter Pan, and Beauty and the Beast.
The cast also features Lewis Pryor as Dick Whittington, Sarah Craig as Fairy Bowbells, Emily Payne as Alice Fitzwarren, Michael Chapman as Sarah the Cook, and Michael Alan Bailey as Pie-man Simon.
Pryor, a finalist on Britain's Got Talent with dance troupe Boogie Storm, is a familiar face to Gladstone Theatre audiences, having played roles in Jack and the Beanstalk, Peter Pan, and Cinderella.
Payne will be making her professional debut in the production. She is a third-year performing arts student at Emil Dale Academy in Hertfordshire.
