A new exhibition by Liverpool artist Anthony Brown is now on display in Port Sunlight, showcasing nearly four decades of work celebrating some of the region's most influential figures, according to The Guide Liverpool.

The exhibition, titled Behind The Eye, is being held at Bridge Cottage.

Brown is known for his distinctive mixed-media portraits. He combines photographs, documents, newspaper clippings, and personal memorabilia to tell the story of his subjects. His work has been displayed internationally and earned recognition for his unique approach to portraiture.

The collection features portraits created over 37 years, and includes well-known names from Merseyside's cultural scene. Among those captured are Beatles legend John Lennon, acclaimed writer Alan Bleasdale, and artist and musician Joe Ankrah, leader of 1960s band The Chants.

The historic building where the exhibition is taking place was once home to Port Sunlight founder William Lever and has featured in several films and television productions, including Chariots of Fire, Tolkien, and Peaky Blinders.

The exhibition is free to enter, but visitors are encouraged to donate to the Port Sunlight Village Trust to help keep these exhibits and the village running.

It is open from every Wednesday to Saturday between 11 am and 3 pm. The surrounding Port Sunlight village has plenty of attractions to explore, like the Lady Lever Art Gallery and the Port Sunlight Museum. Or if you're an Instagram freak, many aesthetic cafes, and one where you can try the famous Port Sunlight bun.

Bridge Cottage is located on Park Road, a short walk from Port Sunlight railway station, with free parking available nearby. The exhibition is open until August 29.
