Woodchurch man arrested after goalposts stolen from Arrowe Park playing fields recovered at his home

A 29-year-old man from Woodchurch is in custody after goalposts were taken from the park and later recovered at a home nearby. The Arrowe Park playing fields were the victim of the theft, which was reported at 7:15 am on 21 September.

A man has been arrested after goalposts were stolen from Arrowe Park playing fields.

The theft was reported this morning at around 7:15 pm, according to police. Officers identified the suspect at a home located in Woodchurch, where the goalposts were found.

A 29-year-old man from Woodchurch has been arrested on suspicion of theft and is currently in custody.

Inspector Sharon Robinson said: "These goalposts are used by the community on a regular basis, so for them to be targeted shows how people involved in criminality have no regard for other people.

"Thanks to the quick response from officers, we have been able to arrest a suspect and retrieve the goalposts. I hope this shows our community how seriously we take these reports."
