Body of a man found washed up on rocks at West Kirby Marine Lake

Emergency services were called to West Kirby Marine Lake on Tuesday afternoon after a man's body was discovered on the rocks along the outer edge of the lake. His death is currently being treated as unexplained.

A man's body has washed up on the shore of the Marine Lake in West Kirby.

Emergency services were called to the area at around 3:30 pm yesterday (September 15). Merseyside Police attended the lake, which extends into the Dee estuary, and found the man deceased on the rocks at the outer edge.

It was unclear how long he had been there, police said.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that emergency services were called to a report that a body was found at West Kirby Marine Lake yesterday afternoon, Tuesday, September 15.

"At around 3:50 pm, we received a report that a man was found deceased on the rocks along the outer edge of the lake, and his death is being treated as unexplained.

"Enquiries are ongoing to identify the man and notify his next of kin."
