Dispersal zone introduced in Birkenhead town centre after reports of youth crime

Police have implemented a 48-hour dispersal zone in Birkenhead town centre following increased reports of anti-social behaviour, bike robberies and youths carrying weapons. Police will be patrolling the area.

Tranmere fan banned from all football matches after throwing lit flare at Grimsby supporters

A 16-year-old Wirral boy has been handed a three-year football banning order after admitting he threw a lit pyrotechnic into a stand full of away fans at Prenton Park. Tranmere Rovers was playing Grimsby Town on May 2 when the teenager threw the flare at the away crowd.
