New homes completed on former Foxfield School site in Moreton

New homes have been completed where the Foxfield School once stood on New Hey Road. 66 new two-, three-, and four-bedroom houses were finished, available to rent and buy through shared ownership, renting, or Rent to Buy. They were created by Lovell Partnerships and Onward Homes.

66 affordable homes have been delivered where the Foxfield School used to be in Moreton.

As reported by Birkenhead News, the former site was purchased by Lovell Partnerships from the council in 2024 and was transformed into mixed-tenure houses in collaboration with housing association Onward Homes.

The scheme includes two, three, and four-bedroom terraced and semi-detached houses. Homes can be purchased through shared ownership, rented, or the Rent to Buy scheme.

Tahreen Shad, regional partnerships director at Lovell, said the project had turned a "long-vacant site into a new community" while helping to meet demand for affordable housing.

During construction, the development also created apprenticeships, work placements and opportunities to engage with local schools and colleges. Lovell said the project generated significant spending with businesses across the Wirral supply chain.

Sandy Kelly, interim growth and regeneration director at Onward Homes, said the homes would increase the availability of affordable housing while helping to reduce household energy costs through their energy-efficient design.

She added: "It's incredibly satisfying to complete our latest development on the Wirral, further improving the quality and choice of affordable housing for local people.

"Alongside new homes, this development has also unlocked real opportunities for local people and supported the local supply chain."

Lovell and Onward Homes have worked together on several developments across the North West, including the first phase of Signallers Croft near Crewe and the Dock Road North mixed-tenure scheme in Port Sunlight.
