Police are appealing for help to identify a man after a jewellery shop was robbed in New Ferry last month.
We reported back in July that a New Ferry jewellery store was robbed in broad daylight.
As we reported, the store was robbed at around 11:05 am on July 21. A man wearing a balaclava used a tool to smash the front window of Pattons Jewellers on Bebington Road and stole from the shop.
Heroic members of the public tried to detain the man, but he unfortunately got away and was seen travelling on a black electric scooter towards New Ferry Park.
Detectives have now issued a CCTV image of a man they believe could assist with their enquiries, as reported by Birkenhead News.
Detective Inspector Andrew West said in a statement: "This was a shocking robbery which was witnessed by people in the vicinity who tried to apprehend the suspect, and thankfully no one was injured.
He continued, "Although the man in the image is wearing a face covering, we hope that his appearance, stature and clothing will help people to recognise him and prompt them to contact us."
The detective appealed to the public if they recognise a man, to contact Merseyside Police, as the man may hold information that will be essential to the investigation.
