A new scheme aimed at helping first-time buyers get onto the property ladder has been launched at a housing development in Bromborough, according to Birkenhead News.
Persimmon Homes North West has introduced the Government-backed First Homes scheme at its River Walk development. And for first-time homeowners, there are 13 homes up for grabs.
Potential homeowners can find a mixture of one and two-bedroom apartments available specifically for first-time buyers aged 18 and over.
The First Homes scheme allows qualifying buyers to purchase a property for less than its market value. Otherwise, properties on the development cost between £254,995 and £389,995, per Persimmon's website.
Obviously, you must be a first-time buyer, but there are some other criteria to meet. These include having a household income of no more than £80,000 a year and the ability to secure a mortgage to cover at least half of the property's value.
River Walk is on Bromborough's eastern side and is in high demand, thanks to easy transport links and proximity to shops and local services. It's also close to the pretty Port Sunlight River Park and Shorefields Nature Park.
Persimmon Homes says the scheme is designed to make home ownership more affordable for local people at a time when many are struggling to buy their first property.
David Hodson, sales director for Persimmon Homes North West, said of the development: "We are proud to launch the First Homes scheme at River Walk and provide more opportunities for local people to get onto the housing market.
