A woman who set up a pioneering physio-led Pilates business has won the Entrepreneur prize at the Merseyside Women of the Year 2026 awards.

Debs Paterson was recognised for her work bridging the gap between healthcare and the fitness industry.

Her business, Pilates by Physio, welcomes around 600 people every week across two venues, supported by a team of more than 20 instructors and staff.

Organisers said: "The award recognised her success in creating a thriving community that empowers people to love and trust their bodies and improve their quality of life."

She was one 13 winners named at this year's awards, which are described as a platform for women making a difference in the region to be seen, heard and found.
