Two men have been charged in connection with a series of shop thefts after a haul of Easter eggs were found in their possession in West Kirby.
On Friday 27 March a man was seen stealing boxes of Easter eggs at Morrisons, worth more than £260.
Following enquiries, two men were arrested at West Kirby railway station and Easter eggs were found in their possession.
One suspect has been charged in connection with a series of shop thefts that were reported to have occurred in West Kirby, Hoylake and Southport.
Paul Waters, 42 years, of no fixed address, has been charged with 17 counts of theft shop and Section 39 assault.
Dean Newland, 36 years, from Toxteth, has been charged with two counts of theft.
They were due to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court Magistrates Court on Monday 30 March.
