Tributes have been paid to a former Hoylake lifeboat volunteer who served at the RNLI station for 30 years.
Bob Beech was a member of the crew from the early 1960s to the early 1990s.
He trained as an electrician before becoming a full-time fisherman, owning many fishing boats over the years, using his skill, experience and knowledge to save lives on the coast.
On retiring from fishing, in 1995 he bought the Plasterers Arms where he spent eight years as the landlord.
In later years, Bob continued fishing locally and following a storm in 2019, which unfortunately sunk and wrecked his boat Proper Job II off Meols, the community came together to fund a new vessel for him.
In a tribute on Facebook, RNLI Hoylake Lifeboat Station said: "Bob was a first-rate fisherman, seafarer and friend.
"We are grateful for his service to Hoylake RNLI and he will be sadly missed by those who knew and went to sea with him.
"Our thoughts are with his friends and loved ones."
