A touring theatre company is bringing its latest production to West Kirby on Friday 3 July.
'Wensleydale Whey' will transport audiences to the Yorkshire Dales where the stakes are high: monks from the Abbey are desperately seeking a living soul to resurrect their traditional Wensleydale cheese.
It is described as a musical journey that delves into the rich history of cheese, featuring a cast of characters, ghosts, and grievances.
Marianne McNamara, Mikron’s Artistic Director, said: “2026 is a milestone year for Mikron.
"The company remains one of the UK’s most prolific touring theatre companies, performing over 5,000 shows since 1972 by canal, river and road, and we’re also celebrating our beautiful narrowboat Tyseley’s 90th birthday this year.
The performance takes place at the Gilroy Allotment site, behind Coronation Buildings on Greenbank Road, at 7pm.
Tickets are not required and attendees pay what they feel is appropriate at the end of the show.
