When Rob Davis got a hole-in-one at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Hoylake it was a remarkable achievement.

But what happened next proved sensational - his fellow group player David Lewis did exactly the same!

The rare feat happened yesterday on the 134-yard 15th at the course, known as Little Eye.

The two aces in the hole at the 15th

It was redesigned in 2020 and is described by the club as "a classic example of a par 3 that does not require great length to make it an interesting hole".

The work saw a newly constructed elevated green constructed set into the sand dunes, with great views of the Dee Estuary and is made trickier as it has severe run offs on three sides.

Their scorecards show that David went on to finish the round in 78 shots - six over par, with Rob on 88.

The club described it as a "truly extraordinary day".
