Tattoo artists, piercers, and performers will take over New Brighton's Floral Pavilion for the 2026 August bank holiday weekend in what organisers say will be their biggest event yet.

The Wirral Tattoo Extravaganza returns on Sunday 30 August and Monday 31 August, with more than 30 tattoo artists and piercers from across the Wirral and surrounding areas demonstrating their skills throughout the weekend, according to the Wirral Globe.

Visitors can meet the inkers, discuss tattoo ideas, and even book them in advance or spontaneously on the day. Killer Ink is sponsoring the event, which will be hosted by Speakeasy Tattoo Studio, a tattoo shop in Liscard.

Alongside the opportunity for inking and piercing, there will be a range of entertainment at the event. This includes live music, stilt walkers, and tattoo-related competitions. There will even be circus-like acts, such as stiltwalkers and firebreathers.

But if you're more focused on the tattoos, there is live tattooing (yes, you did hear that right) from David Harper at midday. The tattoo competitions, although not specified, will start at 7:30 pm. The fireshow is somewhere in between at four.

Accompanying stalls will have tarot readings, crafts, face painting, and temporary tattoos if you want to try before you buy. Of course, there will be food vendors and bars, because all that inking will make you thirsty. And don't worry, the event is said to be family-friendly.

A spokesperson for the event said in a statement: "The response to the 2025 Extravaganza exceeded all expectations, and we're excited to bring it back for 2026. With more artists, more entertainment, and more traders, it's shaping up to be our biggest event yet."

They added: "Whether you're looking for your next tattoo, supporting local businesses, or simply enjoying a great day out, there's something for everyone."

Tickets are on sale now through the Floral Pavilion website.
