A Wallasey-based business that provides mental health support for children has been shortlisted for a national award celebrating small business success.

Tiny Tools for Big Feelings, based in New Brighton, is a finalist in the Community Impact Award category at The UK Women's Business Awards. The shortlist celebrates the business's work delivering support to children and their families.

Tiny Tools For Big Feelings is a charity that focuses on delivering structured and trauma-informed programmes to help parents, children, and families to deal with emotions and build emotional stability. Carlie herself is a trauma-informed coach, specialising in children's anxiety, emotional regulation and emotional support. She is also a parent.

Founder Carly Openshaw, who is also based in New Brighton, said: "Being named a finalist genuinely means so much to me. Tiny Tools started from a very personal belief that children and families deserve support before things reach crisis point, and seeing that work recognised in this way feels quite surreal."

Ms. Openshaw said she's "incredibly proud" of Tiny Tools, and that the charity's reputation has been built through "the trust of families," team commitment, and organisations and communities who have believed in the charity's mission.

"For me, this recognition isn't just about being a woman in business – it's about showing that you can build something with purpose, heart and proper impact at the centre of it. To even be a finalist feels like a massive moment," she added.

A spokesperson for The UK Women's Business Awards said: "The standard of entries this year has been incredibly high. Each finalist has demonstrated an exceptional level of dedication and achievement, representing the very best of UK small businesses."

The awards will take place on 18 December at The Eastside Rooms in Birmingham.
