Police are continuing to investigate the death of a woman from Wallasey, who died in Ibiza four years ago.
As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Robyn Eve Maines, 24, is reported to have fallen 30 feet to her death from the balcony of the Hotel Rosamar in Calle Huelva. Her body was discovered at 8:30 am on Sunday, September 25, 2022.
Spanish police investigated the incident and reviewed the investigation, which they sent over to Merseyside Police. Merseyside is now investigating her death.
A 27-year-old London man was arrested on suspicion of murder and was interviewed, but he is still under investigation.
An inquest into the death was set to take place yesterday at Liverpool Coroners Court but was removed from listings. The coroner's office confirmed the case isn't ready to be heard yet and is adjourned until November 16 at 11 am.
A spokesperson for the police said that the inquest was moved due to the investigation being ongoing. However, no major updates have happened yet.
Robyn's family previously issued a statement, saying: "Our beautiful daughter Robyn Eve Maines was tragically taken away from us on September 25, 2022, at the Hotel Rosamar in Ibiza. Please, if anyone saw or heard anything around this time, can you please come forward and contact the police. We just want justice for Robyn."
On the second anniversary of her death in 2024, Detective Inspector Phil Ryan said in a statement: "The authorities in Spain have now concluded their enquiries into Robyn's death, and an investigation is ongoing by Merseyside Police. At this stage we are treating Robyn's death as unexplained."
The detective urged any witnesses staying at the hotel in September 2022 from the UK to come forward if they saw or heard anything.
DI Ryan added: "At this stage Robyn's death is being treated as unexplained, and we are carrying out a number of lines of enquiry, but it is vital that people come forward and tell us what they know. Robyn's family have understandably been left devastated by her death and are still seeking answers as to what happened."
