Stagecoach's beloved open-top Coastal Breezer bus is back in Wallasey this summer. It will run every day from July 18 to August 31, as reported by Birkenhead News.
The open bus service links the Seacombe Ferry Terminal with New Brighton. Timetables are especially designed to work with the Mersey Ferry arrivals, so passengers won't wait long for the bus back to the seaside. Despite the cost of living crisis, fares remain low. It costs just £1 for an adult single and £5 for a family ticket. A family ticket covers two adults and three children maximum, but can be purchased for smaller families.
If you're a Mersey Ferry River Explorer Cruise ticket holder, or a Eureka! Science + Discovery annual pass holder, you can travel on the Coastal Breezer for free through Stagecoach's partnership with Merseytravel. The bus service was launched in the area in 2023.
Rob Jones, Managing Director for Stagecoach Merseyside and Cheshire, said in a statement: "The Coastal Breezer has become a real summer favourite. It brings people together, supports local businesses and gives families a brilliant way to enjoy the coast without the stress of driving or parking."
Councillor Steve Foulkes, Chair of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority Transport Committee, said: "It's great to see the Coastal Breezer returning for another summer, giving people a fun, affordable and convenient way to explore the Wirral waterfront.
He added that the bus "makes it easier for visitors to enjoy everything" around New Brighton and the local area, and generates income for local businesses and attractions.
The bus runs when the weather cooperates and offers views across the River Mersey, Liverpool Bay and to nearby haunts. You can find timetable information on the Stagecoach website.
