A 40-year-old New Brighton man arrested on suspicion of domestic assault following a rooftop stand-off has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries.

A man who was arrested after a rooftop stand-off in New Brighton has been released on conditional bail pending further enquiries, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to Field Road at around 6.45 pm on August 5, following reports of a man on the roof of a property. The man came down at 8:15 pm and was detained by officers, as reported by Wirral Globe.

Merseyside Police confirmed a 40-year-old man from New Brighton was arrested on suspicion of a domestic Section 47 assault and taken in for questioning. He has since been released on conditional bail, and the investigation continues.
